This brings our harvest trip to Gloucestershire to an end, despite the many problems and setbacks the trip was a great success, and that was largely due to Barry who has worked tirelessly getting these old girls up to harvest order and giving us the oportunity to join him and cut his wheat crops.
Special thanks also to Rory Day Classic Tractor who captured the day and published the cracking photos in this magazine, courtesy of freelance photographer Johnathon Page, who very kindly let us use his photos on Yellowswirl.
Mark Taylor who also behind the scenes took care of the corn carting to the grain buyer, and the other various jobs that need attending to.
The day was completed with a lovely evening supper for all of us courtesy of Barry and Linda.
The trip to Gloucestershire was made very special to me in the company of my former boss in the very early seventies Vivian Carter, Viv quickly slipped into the old days and handled the combines at ease considering he has been away from this type of work for many many years.
A big thank you to everyone involved!
I hope you have enjoyed this story.
Kind regards

Hi Colin I have enjoyed this website very much. It has brought back great childhood memories of my dad leaving the yard with his 1520 in the 70's. I'm sorry to hear Barry is selling his. Alfie Hill .
